March Market Snapshot #1

The first weekend of March for Sydney's auction marketplace was busy as always, with a resurgence of people beginning to enter the real estate market following the natural lull that occurs during the holiday period. Last weekend saw 359 properties sold across the city, reaching a clearance rate of 83 per cent and bringing in a huge $349,084,700 in total sales - a great figure for a growing market.

This could be encouraging news for anyone interested in selling property in Sydney's Inner West suburbs. In fact, there were a number of successes seen in these areas over the last set of auctions as well, which could provide further evidence of the increasing strength of the real estate landscape.

For example, there were five successful sales of Leichhardt property over the weekend - with three of them selling for more than the median city price of $965,000. One three-bedroom property sold for $1,200,000, while another two-bedroom home sold for $1,015,000.

Results like this are becoming more and more common in the area, with a huge number of people beginning to consider these suburbs as potential areas to live due to the lifestyle and relative closeness to the central business district of Sydney.

Lilyfield had a fantastic weekend with regards to sales, with three properties successfully going under the hammer - and all for more than $1,000,000. The three properties - which sold for prices between $1,125,000 and $1,270,00 -  were all three-bedroom homes that could be perfect for raising a family in.

If you're interested in buying real estate in Balmain, there are a number of properties available for you to inspect. For example, this two-bedroom property in Balmain could be perfect for those looking into places in close proximity to culture and sophistication without being too far from their jobs in Sydney.
