Inner West Light Rail Extension to open over the next week

The Inner West Light Rail Extension will be opening to the public on Thursday this week (27 March) and is set to improve the public transportation of people across the Inner West suburbs of Sydney. The recently completed line was a 5.6 kilometre extension that adds nine new stops between Lilyfield and Dulwich Hill.
These new stops include Leichhardt North, Hawthorne, Marion, Taverners Hill, Lewisham West, Waratah Mills, Arlington, Dulwich Grove and Dulwich Hill, and will have an additional 12 new light rail vehicles available to help further streamline the service for residents of the area.
Benefits from the expansion are plentiful. Not only will this lead to improved access for people to reach places of work and leisure by using public transport, but it also allows people to easily change between light rail, bus and bicycle transportation methods - highlighting the Inner West's dedication to sustainable practises.
Furthermore, the extension will provide new connection to local shopping and entertainment areas like the Sydney Fish Markets, Star City, Paddy's Market, Capitol Square and the Leichhardt Marketplace. This could help improve the popularity and accessibility of these fixtures, helping to further boost the local economy.
In a March 21 release, Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian said the Central to Dulwich Hill light rail will have services running every 10 minutes during peak hours - from 7 a.m till 10 a.m and 3 p.m till 6 p.m - as well as regular weekend services.
"Because of the regular turn-up-and-go service, customers won't need to consult a timetable and can easily interchange between Inner West bus services as well as local train services at Lewisham and Dulwich Hill," said Ms Berejiklian.
The development of new infrastructure, especially public transport, is often a great draw card for people looking to move homes. Now could be a great time to consider selling your Balmain investment property and securing a great profit.
