Biking and walking trails: Get around Leichhardt on foot with ease

There are a number of different walking, running and cycling paths spread throughout the Inner West suburbs of Sydney, providing entertainment and exercise routes for those looking into fun, interesting activities to do in the area. Here are just some of the many options available to residents and visitors alike to the region.
The Bay Run
For fans of marathon-level exercise, the Bay Run could be a great prop for training. The route runs 7 kilometres around the shore of Iron Bay, which borders on a number of parks in the area including Leichhardt Park, King George Park, Brett Park and Rodd Point among others.
It's also one of the most popular walking and running routes in Sydney, due to it's suitability for social events, serious training and all types of exercise in between. Following the entire course, you'll never be more than 20 metres away from the water - and with dedicated walking and cycling paths, there's enough room for everyone to soak up the view and enjoy the outdoors.
Furthermore, the route is both pram and dog friendly, making it the perfect outing for a lazy Sunday afternoon family walk before heading back to work.
Cycling Routes
Sprawling throughout the entire Inner West region are more than 55,000 metres of cycling lane, twisting through the various suburbs that contribute towards creating the Leichhardt local government community.
Started as a counter to carbon emissions, the biking program in the region has taken off over the last few years. Now it's possible to access most of the regions by biking, with a special emphasis paid to schools across the area. Your children can bike to and from school everyday on dedicated biking trails, helping to keep them happy and healthy.
