Norton Street Italian Festa: Enjoy Leichhardt culture this October

The Norton Street Italian Festa has been saved by the Leichhardt Council, which could be great news for those owners of Inner West real estate in the region. The local government has committed $50,000 worth of funding - plus additional further support - to save the festival, which takes place on October 26.
A signature festival in the Leichhardt community, the festival is now in its 27th year and attracts up to 100,000 people to the area for a day of fun festivities. Leichhardt Mayor Darcy Byrne said it's essential for local government to support community events so they can survive heading into the future.
Running from 10 a.m., the festival is a celebration of all things Leichhardt and works towards promoting a community spirit among locals in the Little Italy of Sydney. There are hundreds of different stalls and pop-up stores open across the venue, which takes over Norton Street for the day.
There are plenty of entertaining things for the whole family to enjoy. From carnival rides and bouncing castles through to rock climbing and animal farms, there's bound to be something to keep people of all ages occupied during the day.
Furthermore, there are a number of organic stalls, concerts, fashion parades, dancing competitions and more. This year's festival also happens to fall on the same date as the New South Wales Grandparents Day, which gives you an even better reason to get together with the family and spend the day soaking up some Leichhardt culture.
This could be a wonderful day out for all the families living in Sydney's Inner West region. Or if you're considering moving into the region, this is just one of the many events that are held regularly across the Leichhardt region - which could influence your decision to purchase Balmain real estate.
