View visually stunning exhibitions in Leichhardt

Carefully curated exhibitions at local libraries continue to inspire those with Balmain and Leichhardt real estate.

Located on Norton Street, the Leichhardt Library is tucked away in the Italian Forum, and you can even get two hours parking absolutely free when you take your ticket to the loans desk.

It's open every day, as is the Balmain Library, which is located in the town hall.

At Leichhardt Library, the annual NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders Exhibition embraced colour and texture and even offered introductory bookbinding workshops to the general public.

Simply entitled Bindings, the exhibition explored the work of Jean Riley's detailed bookbinding work that uses various decorative papers. It ran until the end of January, with many eager residents heading along to the Leichhardt Library to be inspired.

Unnecessary Instabilities is a free exhibition which ran until the end of January at the Balmain library.

It was presented as a Lawrence McDonell exhibition and is free to view.

If you've got Lilyfield or Rozelle property the workshops are in your own locale, at the NSW Writers' Centre in Garry Owen House.

Artist Andra Krumins deals with the abstract in a controlled, yet contradictorily chaotic manner. Her exhibitions, Contrasts, runs from February 3-28.

This inspiring collection of loud and vibrant works is a visual feast sure to rouse the artistic taste buds of young and old alike.

These exciting exhibitions follow on from other successes, such as the recent The Republic of Georgia collection, presented by Richard Gregory.

Mr Gregory's work was shown throughout the month of December and was a visual response to his time spent in Georgia in 2012. As a Sydney local, Mr Gregory focuses on his research of east Asian and Chinese architecture while working as a freelance illustrator.

These thought-provoking exhibitions are just the tip of the cultural iceberg for those with Inner West real estate.
