March Market Snapshot #2

Heading into autumn is yet to cool the real estate market in Sydney, with a citywide auction clearance rate of 82 per cent over the last weekend (March 8) highlighting the continued strength of the New South Wales capital during 2014. This could be great news for those interested in selling property in the Inner West suburbs, with a number of successes seen in the region over the last week.

With 336 properties sold across the capital city and a total sales amount of $317,810,800, the overall strength of the market cannot be denied. Furthermore, the median price of properties sold during the last weekend reached $900,000 - with many selling for more than this across the region.

For example, two properties in Leichhardt sold for $920,000 and $940,000, respectively. These homes were two-bedroom properties located in the heart of the suburb, which could be encouraging for anyone considering following suit and selling their Leichhardt real estate in the near future.

Furthermore, a one-bedroom property in Lilyfield sold for a huge $777,000 over the weekend, highlighting a potentially growing market for smaller real estate for young professionals across the region. With a relatively close proximity to the central business district in Sydney, accommodation for affluent singles could be a great investment to consider in the coming years.

If you're interested in purchasing property in Sydney's Inner West, there are a number of potential options throughout the area that could fit your description. For example, this two-bedroom Balmain home could be great for a young family or professional couple to consider.

Located just up the road from Balmain's Darling Street and the local hospital, there are a number of cafes, restaurants and lifestyle options around the area that appeal to anyone looking to secure property in an affluent area of Sydney.
