Embracing sustainable living with the Leichhardt Council

Sustainable living is an important thing for people to consider adopting in the coming years. After all, looking after our planet and communities through cleaner, greener living will help us lead healthier, happier lives in the long run. if you're interested in bringing some sustainable practises into your Balmain real estate, there are a number of events coming up that could be of interest.

Sustainable City Living

An event coming up on March 26 called Sustainable City Living could be a great place to start your green education. Taking place in the Leichhardt Town Hall, this free forum includes a number of speakers to provide information, as well as stalls, food, prizes and many more attractions to do with creating a cleaner, greener lifestyle.

The speakers include Indira Naidoo, a journalist and sustainable living advocate, Laura Wynne from the Institute of Sustainable Futures, and Sally Hill, the co-founder of Wildwon - an organisation that aims to spread social and sustainable values throughout communities.

These speakers and their tips could be a great place to start for those interested in adopting a more sustainable lifestyle.

Worm Farming

Furthermore, on May 13 the Leichhardt Council will be opening its doors and showing the public how to start their own worm farm. There are a number of benefits to starting a worm garden at your own home, including making your own fertiliser for the garden.

Worms help to break down organic material and covert this into nutrients that can be used by other plants to grow stronger. Utilising this alongside an organic vegetable garden could be beneficial for the overall establishment of a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

With a growing emphasis on a healthier community, now could be the perfect time to consider moving into the Leichhardt region and finding the perfect property for you and your family.
